Awendaw Creek
When I came upstairs to the salon pre-dawn this morning, Paradigm Shift was lined up perfectly behind us. Its anchor light cast a mesmerizing glitter reflection in the still water. I continued up to the pilothouse to watch the sunrise. Today there were four boats in front of us, with the catamaran positioned perfectly as a foreground point of interest. While the sun rose, dolphin came in from the inlet and were feeding alongside the boats. At one point I counted a dozen fins in the water.
We did not leave Crossroads today, but stayed busy onboard. Familiar activities like yoga and strength exercises were broken up by daily projects such as dusting and applying a conditioner to our interior teak. After lunch I read on Fiberglass Beach while looking out over the calm water. An occasional fisherman in a runabout passed by and several loud splashes announced the latest touchdown of a fishing pelican. At 5:00 we put the dinghy back on the upper deck, and began preparing dinner. Another great sunset closed our day in this peaceful anchorage. Tomorrow morning we will depart with Paradigm Shift and make our way to approximately 25 miles north to Georgetown.
