Dania Beach
The schedule we carefully planned last night somehow morphed significantly while I was in the shower. New plan had us running errands early in the morning. We arrived at Petco just as they were opening the doors. I had the pleasure of picking up extra provisions for The Boyz. My favorite pups have been notified that Miss Robin will soon be Bahamas-bound with a box of treats. We then picked up supplies for today's projects at Home Depot before heading to the boat. Barry replaced a faulty monitor in our water tank. I cleaned the the dinghy on the upper deck while enjoying a beautiful view of the many busy shipyards along the Dania Cut-Off Canal. After that, my cleaning spree continued as I removed some stains from the upper deck, green algae buildup from our spreaders, and fender smudges from the hull. We left with the stabilizer techs working hard and reseating the bearings and seals. Fingers crossed the fins will be re-installed tomorrow. After quick showers and a change of clothes we were off for the highlight of the day -- a trip up to Delray Beach to visit Barry's uncle. We arrived at Ben and Sherry's place at 4:00 and quickly got lost in conversation catching up with everyone's comings and goings. Heeding the advice of our local hosts, we went to an early dinner to sneak in before the crowds began to form. Our meals at an old-fashioned New York deli did not disappoint and we departed through a long line of folks waiting for a table. Everyone marveled at the full moon which was still low in the sky and exceptionally bright. We spent another hour together at their house before saying farewell and making the hour-long drive back to Dania Beach.
