Almost Paradise

Key Biscayne

With hopes of either moving into No Name Harbor later today or making a trip south to Tavernier tomorrow, we chose not to lower the dinghy and spent the day onboard. It was beautiful here in South Florida. The bright sun lit up the Miami skyline and helped turn the water multiple tints and shades of blue. It was a bit breezy, but our anchorage was very pleasant. We watched boats come and go, dolphins bobbing among the boats, and parasailers zipping across the horizon. I even managed to finish another book while catching a few rays in the process. It was almost paradise.

Unfortunately, it appears that unfavorable tide cycles and strong winds will keep us from visiting friends in Tavernier this year. We will check the harbor in the morning and see if room has opened up for us. Either way, we plan to pull the dinghy down and hit the shore to walk through Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. We enjoyed our stay here last year prior to crossing to Bimini and are looking forward to retracing our steps -- even to the top of the lighthouse.

Almost paradise
We're knocking on heaven's door
Almost paradise
How could we ask for more?
