Clouds Come Floating ...

Day 322  |  Norman's Cay to Highbourne Cay  |  1.9 Hours  |  11 Miles

Today was an easy-going, slow-paced day. We slept in a little then I spent a while following up on the messages, texts, emails, and news reports of yesterday's events. All was good. We pulled up the anchor from Norman's Cay just before 10:00 and had relocated a short distance north to Highbourne Cay by noon. We elected not to pull the dinghy down so I spent the afternoon on Fiberglass Beach. Large fluffy clouds dominated the sky, the sun was shining brightly, and there was a nice breeze. Not too bad.

The anchorage was very active. Boats of all sizes -- from megayachts to dinghies -- were constantly coming in and out. Adding to the commotion were the jetskis, sunfish sailboats, and jet boards also zipping around. At one point in the late afternoon the number of boats made this "remote" spot look more like George Town's Elizabeth Harbor. A book, a beverage, and good cell service all contributed to an enjoyable and relaxing afternoon. The clouds floated across the sky the entire time, morphing fluidly like a lava lamp.

At sunset, the clouds provided the drama to the evening colors. By nightfall, anchor lights and cabin lights illuminated the anchorage.

"Clouds come floating into my life,
no longer to carry rain or usher storm,
but to add color to my sunset."
