Following a month of incredible north-to-south-to-north exploration of the Exuma Cays, we hopped over to the island of Eleuthera today to start a new chapter in our journey. We exited the Exuma chain through the eddy-filled Highbourne Cut and put the eastern beaches of Highboune Cay to our stern. Our thirty-mile open water passage started out a bit rolly, but calmed down as we approached the southern tip of Eleuthera. A stone obelisk rose from a sandbar indicating we were getting close to Rock Sound. We pulled into the harbor and dropped the hook close to one of the town's dinghy docks. I finished up another book and took a short nap, hoping to be able to make it through tonight's ball game. We'll go into town tomorrow to explore and search for some fruits, veggies, and other perishables.
