George Town
On a "glass is half full" note, our anchor and bridle are holding like true champions. We are dug in and are not going anywhere. Looking at the other/empty side of the glass, the blow continues. The waves on the outside have built to where (comfortably) we cannot leave and others cannot arrive. Barry and I decided there was nothing we had to do in town or on shore so we'd just hang out onboard for the day. The key was to not get stuck on bored. Slow mornings like this are always good for me as I can get in my lifting, stretching, and yoga. Today's session was all about bending and letting go as the bouncy waves added several degrees of difficulty to a very familiar routine. I was much closer to a tender sapling than a mighty oak while swaying on my tree pose. On days like this, I'm thankful for the small confines of our lower hallway, for I don't have far to lean before the walls catch me. Other than the wind it was another beautiful day.
I sat on Fiberglass Beach and read, joking that I'm becoming well-rounded both due to the variety of my books and being unable to get onshore and walk. The clouds would occasionally filter the sunlight and put a chill in the air. By late afternoon I was back in a long sleeved T-shirt (that's roughing it down here). Barry changed the filters on our watermaker then began working with and trimming the supplies he purchased the other day at Top II Bottom. I don't like to see all the mess, so I went to the flybridge and knocked out a few more chapters. While there, I looked up at our Bahamian courtesy flag and couldn't believe that it has already ripped itself to shreds in the wind. At this rate we'll need 10 flags to complete our stay, although we have only one additional flag in storage. Tomorrow's project will be getting out the packing tape to reinforce the leading edge. Maybe we can get a few more weeks and destinations out of the current one. We will also get off the boat for a while and try to make the next post a bit more interesting. Not every day is packed with adventure, but there is a lot of adventure left to be packed into our days.
I look forward to reading your blog every day and I am enjoying tagging along on your adventures!
ReplyDeleteBest to you and Barry!
