Celebrating Selene Life

Big Majors

We couldn't have asked for a prettier day for our Selene gathering. Low wind, calm seas in the most amazing shades of blue, and a bluebird sky was the setting as nine boats assembled. This morning dear friends on Change of Pace, a sister 43 that is also our dock neighbor at home, arrived. I enjoyed a few hours reading on the bow and just soaking up the scenery.

After lunch we took the dinghy out for a tour. Our first destination was to Pig Beach, Home of the Original Swimming Pigs. There were a few cute little piglets scampering along the shore. Three large pigs were entertaining passengers on a tour boat in exchange for food. Yes, there were folks who got in the water with these large animals. We observed from the safety and comfort of the dinghy. Swimming is not the only thing the pigs do in the water.

We circled the anchorage, visiting some folks and taking a few more pictures, then circled around Fowl Cay into the anchorage between Big Majors and Little Majors. Everywhere we looked was sparkling light blue water and beautiful sandy beaches. A passage through Fowl Cay Cut led us back to Crossroads. We were soon preparing to leave for the Selene dinner at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club. Representatives from Selene Yachts Americas have joined our group for the past few days and we've all been happy to share the pride in our vessels and excitement about the lifestyle we are so fortunate to lead. On the way to dinner, it was such a great sight to see Paradigm Shift growing larger as we approached. Glenda, Greg, and The Boyz arrived late this afternoon from points south. We were able to visit for a few minutes before going to dinner together. Our group of 26 enjoyed a great meal and better fellowship. Events will continue tomorrow with a Selene parade to a nearby anchorage.
