Big Majors
We had a surprisingly calm and smooth night. The wind picked up and changed direction as expected, but the island kept the waves from building. When I did my pilot house check this morning, both the Granny and Ritchie compasses showed we were facing north. Our anchor rotated, reset, and then held that position for the remainder of the day -- more than 180 degrees from where we started yesterday. The cold front brought in a chill to the air that the gusty winds exaggerated. Right after breakfast I set up camp in the pilot house and started a new book. Pages were turned to the background sound of our flapping Bahamian courtesy flag. The winds have now consumed about half of it. Once the white vertical stripe is gone, we'll change to a new flag.
Barry set out to figure out how and why StarLink changed all of its settings overnight and limited his (and everyone else's) usual TV reception. The wind settled a bit in the afternoon and a few dinghies darted about. My book and I moved to the upper deck to enjoy the sunshine in the lee of the flybridge. It was comfortable and the pages kept turning. I finished all 326 pages as the day ended with no clouds for added interest as the sun set beyond the anchorage.
