Our Group Hits The Beach

Big Majors to Little Bay  |  1.9 Hours  |  10 Miles

Seven of the nine Selenes anchored at Big Majors departed this morning. Five joined in a small parade, with Crossroads acting as the caboose. Thanks to Glenda for snapping a photo of us. In less than two hours we arrived at a small cove with a beautiful beach. The "Sandcastle" rose prominently above the scrub vegetation. There were only a couple of other boats anchored as our group arrived, but one was quite large. Kelly took the shot of us anchoring in front of a large motor yacht.

It was close to low tide by the time everyone got settled. The water was an amazing tint of blue. Barry and I hosted Brandt, the Selene photographer, for a quick tour of Crossroads. We enjoyed the opportunity to tell our Selene story and show off some of our favorite things. Right after our walk-through ended, we hopped in the dinghy and went to shore to join several other folks. On the wide-open, sandy beach I enjoyed some reunion time with my favorite pups. They swam to shore and had the best time running on the sand. Everyone returned to their boat for a quick dinner and agreed to gather on the beach at sunset for a bonfire. The sun had hit the water in the west by the time we were loading back into the dinghy.

At the same time, a full moon was rising in the east. Everyone circled the bonfire and enjoyed each other's company as dusk transitioned to darkness. In the few hours spent on shore, the tide rose significantly. We all traipsed through waist-deep water while returning to our dinghies.
