Retracing Our Steps

Governor's Harbour to Rock Sound |  4 Hours   25 Miles

Our return path to The Exumas takes us back to Rock Sound which will also provide pretty good protection from the mounting and clocking winds coming this weekend. We knew many other boats would be seeking cover in the same spot, so we left Governor's Harbour early and arrived by noon. The high sun and large white clouds were painting a myriad of blue hues across the entrance. There were eight boats in the anchorage, but more than enough room for us to drop the hook. I checked in with Mom and wished her a Happy Birthday. We lowered the dinghy, but didn't venture ashore. Today was all about relaxation. A little reading on Fiberglass Beach, and some time on the pilothouse roof watching the incoming boat parade occupied most of my afternoon.

Tired of sitting, I rinsed some of the salt off of Crossroads then returned to the flybridge with Barry to watch the end of the boat parade and the sunset. At last count there were 23 well-spaced boats in the anchorage. More will probably arrive tomorrow. Happy Birthday, Mom.
